Autonomous driving: "It could be ready in five to ten years"
The technology is ready, but would we actually get into an autonomous vehicle? ARD journalist Simin Sadeghi and AI expert Aljoscha Burchardt from the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI) talk about this with Professor Torsten Bertram from TU Dortmund University. Bertram heads the Chair of Control Systems Engineering and is investigating what it takes for people to get into an autonomous vehicle: How does the feeling of safety arise and what actually happens if a passenger on the bus is unwell and there is no longer a bus driver to look after them?
