Titel: Real-time capable model predictive control paper presented at this year's online conference ACC2020
With the paper "Single Degree of Freedom Model Predictive Control with Variable Horizon" the RST contributes to the "American Control Conference". This event brings together researchers and users from around the world to share and discuss new findings in the field of control engineering and systems theory. Our contribution shows that the configuration of model-predictive control with a single degree of freedom of the manipulated variables on the prediction horizon issuitable for a particular class of nonlinear systems. Well-known representatives of this group are for example electrical drive systems. With the help of the variable horizon important theoretical properties such as forward invariance and asymptotic stability are ensured. Withonly single degree of freedom the recurring mixed-integer optimal control problem is solved efficiently.
